bubble algae....
... this are quite normal and just part of stabilising a reef. Mithrax will eat it but they also release more spores from the bubbles when they do, so IMO, it's best left alone if it's only in clusters and not growing onto corals. (Dale)

Yes it is a type of bubble algae. I believe it is called Botryocladia. It is not actually "stemmy" as it appears in the photo it is attached to the caulerpa.
